11年生「ＩＢ地理」フィールドワーク / G11 IB Geography Field Trip

2021年1月15日、群馬県桐生市にて11年生「IB地理」選択生徒がフィールド・ワークを行いました。

「IB地理」ではフィールド・ワークの実施がカリキュラムの一環として定められており、今年度の11年生は「桐生川の上流域から中流域にかけての特徴の変化はBradshaw Model（※）にどの程度当てはまっているか？」というリサーチ・クエスチョンに基づいて、河川の勾配、川幅、流速などの地理的特性を丸一日かけて測定しました。

On 15th January, 2021, G11 IB Geography students went on a field trip to Kiryu city, Gunma Prefecture.

This Field Trip is a part of the IB Geography curriculum. This year’s G11 IB Geography students surveyed Kiryu river’s geographical features to answer the Research Question “To what extent does the middle course of the Kiryu River in Gunma, Japan correspond to the Bradshaw Model* ?”

*The Bradshaw Model is an idealized geographical model which suggests how a river’s characteristics vary between the upper course and lower course of a river. (From https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bradshaw_model)
