World Scholar’s Cup 2019/　ワールドスカラーズカップ2019

On May 1st and May 2nd, thirty GKA students ranging from Grade 8 to Grade 12 participated in the World Scholar’s Cup 2019 Tokyo Round, held at Ichikawa Gakuen. The idea of the World Scholar’s Cup is to create something different than the traditional academic competition; instead, it aims to allow students to find the joy of learning.By working in teams of three, participants are able to compete in debates, academic tests, writing challenges, and a large-scale Scholar’s Bowl, an academic quiz game played by all the members. Around 600 students attended this year, strengthening their friendships while also making new ones at the same time.
Our students had a wonderful learning experience and learned the value of team collaboration. Their active participation led all thirty students to qualify for the upcoming Global Round competition.

8学年から12学年からなる生徒30名は、 去る5月1、2日、市川学園で開催されたワールドスカラーズカップ2019、東京ラウンドに 参加しました。ワールドスカラーズカップのコンセプトは従来の学問の競技大会などとは異なり、生徒に学びの楽しさを発見させることです。参加者は3人1組になり、チームでディベートや学術テスト、ライティングチャレンジ、参加者全員対抗の大規模クイズスカラーズボウルなどに挑戦し、参加者たちと競います。今年は計約600名の生徒が各校から参加しました。それぞれが友好関係を深め、新たな友情が生まれる機会となりました。

本校の生徒も素晴らしい学びの経験と、チームで協力することの大切さを学びました。また積極的に参加できたことから、30人全員がグローバルラウンドへの出場権を獲得しました。
