Grade 1: Digging Potatos じゃがいも掘り

1年生たちにとっては、楽しい時間だったことでしょう。生活科の授業で、じゃがいも掘りを行いました。手に土をつけながらたくさんのじゃがいもを掘っていました。授業で学んだ収穫ということを体験できたことでしょう。多くの児童にとって初の経験だったようで、とても嬉しそうでした。畑に入ってもよい靴に履き替え、手袋や帽子をかぶるなど、、、安全対策も準備万端です！そしてシャベルでじゃがいも掘りを始めたのでした。掘ったじゃがいもを茎から外しました。収穫した全部のじゃがいもを集めると、ものすごい豊作でした！実際に食べてみましたが、味も最高でした！

We had a really exciting week in first grade. Students went digging for potatoes in life studies class. They enjoyed getting their hands dirty and picked many potatoes. They used what they learnt about harvesting during life studies class. They were so excited because it was their first time harvesting potatoes. First students changed into their rubber boots, put on their gloves and hats… Safety first! They got a trowel, and started digging. They separated the potatoes from the plants. They collected a lot of potatoes! We enjoyed eating the potatoes, they were so delicious!
