４年生図工：街作・G4Art: Cities

４年生は図工の授業で街作りをしました。各児童は立方体や四角錐などの立体に基づいて、少なくとも 1 つの建物を作りました。これは、算数で学んだ「直方体と立方体」の単元と結びついています。子どもたちは算数で学習した知識を応用しつつ、自分たちの創造性も発揮していました。自分の作りたい立体を作ることができるか確かめるために、立体の展開図を描いてから取り組んでいました。4年生たちは、自分たちのクラスの街を作ることを楽しんでいました。

Grade 4 students created cities in Art class. Students made at least one building based on 3-D shapes like cubes and pyramids. This tied in with their learning of cubes and cuboids in math. Students were able to apply their math knowledge and creativity at the same time. They drew the nets to make sure they could make their 3-D shapes. They enjoyed making the class’s city.
