G5: 米づくり体験→調理→実食・Rice Preparation

５年生は社会科と家庭科の学習の一環として、米について、田植え、生長の観察、収穫、調理までを体験しました。全ての作業は手作業で行いました。特に籾すりは多くの時間をかけていました。その後、家庭科の授業でその米を炊き、味噌汁を作りました。皆、美味しいと言っていました！

機械化が進む前の作業を体験できたことは、子どもたちにとって良い経験になったことでしょう。

Part of the Social Studies and Home Economics curriculum in 5th grade learning the process of planting, growing, harvesting, and preparing rice for meals. All of these are done by hand! They even worked hard to separate the rice from the plant by hand.  Students then cooked the rice and made miso soup in Home Economics class.  They said it was delicious! 

It is a good chance to see how people did things in the past.
