英語チームの教員研修 ・Elementary ELA PD

8月23日（水）、オックスフォード大学出版局様からトレーナーを招き、フォニックス教授法をさらに深めるためのワークショップを行いました。英語学習において、フォニックスは、児童が英語の音を認識し、流暢に読めるようになるための重要な要素です。研修中、教師たちはさまざまなアクティビティを試したり、ロールプレイをしたり、児童たちが主体的にアクティビティに取り組む方法について深め合いました。
　ハイライトの一つは、グループで行ったサイコロゲームです。このゲームは子ども向けにデザインされたものですが、多くの教師が熱中し、のめりこんでいました。今回の研修は、児童がさらに自信を持って英語をすらすら読めるようになるための新しいアイデアや見識を教師たちに与える、興味深く有益なセッションでした。

On Wednesday 23rd August, the elementary English teachers invited a trainer from Oxford University Press to lead a workshop on teaching phonics. Phonics is important for reading as it helps students to recognise and read the sounds in English and to become fluent readers. During the training, teachers tried different activities, role played and discussed ways of adapting activities for our students.
　One of the highlights was a dice game we played in groups. The game is designed for children, yet many teachers became very competitive and excited about it. It was an interesting and informative session giving teachers new ideas and insight into helping students become more confident and fluent readers.
