11年生IB地理フィールドワーク / G11 IB Geography Fieldwork

2019年12月13日、11年生のIB地理選択者27名が参加して、新宿と品川でのフィールドワークを実施しました。生徒たちは、IB地理の一環として、中心市街地からの距離が都市環境にどのような影響を与えるのかについて探索しました。

実際に現地に赴いて自分の手でデータを集める「フィールドワーク」は、IB地理で必修となっている課題の一つです。

一次データを自ら集め仮説を検証するという経験を通して、生徒たちは地理学の面白さと難しさを垣間見たようでした。

On December 13th, 27 Grade 11 IB Geography students braved the freezing cold and went to Shinagawa and Shinjuku to investigate how distance from an urban centre changes urban stress. Fieldwork and first-hand research is mandatory for IB Geography and, by collecting primary data themselves, students were able to test their hypothesis and gain a better understanding of how geographers create information and the joys and frustrations of fieldwork.
